The "Morning After" event
report from our Observatory Director:
We had a very good observing session. Cloudy skies gave
way to fair conditions at star party time with
enthusiastic observers ready to look at Saturn even
before it was in the eyepiece at 8:45pm (19 minutes
before sunset). Many non-members came out to view the
night sky including kids; lots of kids, which made the
whole event worthwhile. With persistent twilight, we
moved between Saturn and double star Cor Caroli (which
is a binary). The International Space Station made a
very high pass at 9:44pm. Clouds did return and we ended
up shutting down the observatory at 10:30pm |
