Special Event at the ACA Observatory
General Observing

The weather conditions are not suitable for our planned  Messier Marathon tonight; however there is an area of usable sky over Indiana that should arrive at the observatory at star party time. So, the observatory will be open at 8pm with the best free coffee in Akron serving at 8:05pm. If you don't want to drag your telescope out, that's okay, just come out for some coffee and views through the observatory telescope.

New feature: The "T" on each object's line in the chart above indicates the time of transit in addition to the rise and set times for the object.

Jet Stream
(
updates automatically to latest available image)
The Jet Stream affects astronomical "seeing" (steadiness of the air)
If we're in a gray area, seeing will not be as good as in a white area.
If we're in a white area, the shorter the arrows, the better.
